Training Times
Claremont Masters has three formal training sessions per week, as well as a weekly Aerobic session and informal Sunday training.
We train at Challenge Stadium, Stephenson Avenue, Mt Claremont twelve months of the year. Challenge Stadium has three 50m pools (two of which can be converted to 25m). Almost all our training is swum with pools in a 50m configuration.
All training session have a program written by one of our coaching team. There are two evening sessions per week:
-
Tuesday PM - 7.00pm - 8.00pm
-
Thursday PM - 7.00pm - 8.00pm
We have exclusive use of 3 lanes, and the lanes are graded to suit ability. Total distance swum will be approx 1.8km, 2.4km, 2.8km across the lanes - of course this will vary depending on the amount of non-freestyle in the program.
Club Night is the last Tuesday of each month. This involves about 20 minutes of swimming, followed by 3 races (mostly 100s and 50s). Club Night is a great opportunity to get a gauge of your swimming progress. And afterwards there is a social function in our clubrooms at Challenge Stadium.
There is a morning session once a week
-
Friday AM - 9.30am - 10.30am
This time slot has the bonus of being able to use the Challenge crèche, and is very popular for those with pre-school children. This session is structured with reserved lanes and a program assisted by on-deck coaches.
There are two informal sessions on the weekend:
-
Saturday PM - aerobics (timed long distance swims)
-
Sunday PM - general training including carnival preparation
So why not come along for a try out at one of our training sessions ?
