Gropers of the Month – May 2009 – Joy Johnson and Susie Forte

Joy Johnson and Susie Forte were awarded joint Groper of the Month awards for May 2009 for their unbridled enthusiasm and infectious happiness at the National and State Swims. Well done on setting countless PBs and generally enhancing the atmosphere in Team Claremont.

Groper of the Month – April 2009 – Lauren Thomas

Lauren Thomas was awarded Groper of the Month for April 2009 for her coaching assistance at the Friday morning sessions including excellent demonstrations of perfect technique and offering assistance to first-time competitive swimmers, and for her outstanding results at the State Swim.

Claremont Masters AGM 2009 Summary

Hi Gropers,

Thanks to all members that attended the club’s Annual General Meeting on January 12 and helped make it a success. A new committee was voted in for 2009:

President – Gary Bradley
Vice President – Duncan Booth
Secretary – Elena Nesci
Treasurer – Patrick Verryn
Recorder – Richard Johnson
Coach – Frank Glass
Captain – Nicky Corsbie
Vice Captain – Alison Farmer
Social Committee – Nat Roberts, Tom Engelbrecht, Trish Burton & Joy Johnson

We still require one more member on the social committee and a Public Relations Officer so if you are interested please let me know.

Gary Bradley was a very deserving winner of the Craig Bell Service to the Club Award for his outstanding contribution to club life and in particular to his assistance, support and friendship extended to Colin Mayrhofer over the past 9 months during his arduous rehabilitation process.

Fees for 2009 have been set at $110. There is a new online registration system that Patrick will inform you about when he returns from his travels so you can keep hold of your cash for a bit longer.

Ross Littlewood was awarded Groper of the Month for August for his team spirit and outstanding debut performance at the recent State Championships. Congratulations Ross!

Graham Croft wins SA Swimming Award

Graham Croft, joint Claremont Masters and South Australian Masters swimmer, was awarded Male Swimmer of the Year at the South Australian Masters annual dinner for the second year running. Congratulations from all your fellow Claremont members.

Groper of the month for July 2008 has been awarded to Nicola Corsbie for her outstanding work organising the XMas in July functions enjoyed by all on Friday July 25 at the Santa Fe restaurant in Subiaco. Well done Nicky!
