This article summarises the information that the club wishes to disseminate to its members in relation to the FINA World Masters Championships 2008, being held in Perth at Challenge Stadium from April 15-25.

These entries must be in by Friday March 14 and your entry number then emailed to Sally Bell (ua.moc.u4null@las). You will see a paragraph in your post-registration email looking something like this:

Sally will be sending out a separate reminder and follow-up on this but please make her life easier and get your info to her so we don’t have to chase you up. Please don’t panic about providing either a photo or proof of Masters membership when you do your entry. Both these can be sorted out at accreditation. Most important thing is to get your event entries done.

Waterpolo

Team Albion is planning to enter a team in the FINA World Masters Waterpolo competiton. Age group is 35+. The “youngest” player must have turned 35 by the end of December 08. As we overlap with the “Gropers” (we are all current members!) we are looking for “Groper” recruits to potentially boost the team. If anyone is interested in playing please e-mail/phone Gerry MacQuillan (Team Coach/Captain and Manager!) on 0422 090 355 or at moc.liamtohnull@nalliuqcamyrreg with your prior waterpolo “experience” and desire to play. No pressure.

Training Friday March 14 6.30am Claremont Pool (Davies Rd, Claremont). The deadlines are getting close.

Dates:

Preliminary rounds Thursday 17th to Wednesday 23rd April (includes over the weekend)
Finals Thursday 24th April. No game times as yet.

Games played at Challenge Stadium, Claremont Pool, UWA and Bicton Waterpolo Pool (near the Baths).
Round Robin Format.
Up to 15 team members.
Players must be over 35 on the 31st of December 08. We will be playing in the male 35+ age group.

All competitors must be a member of a club (masters, swimming, waterpolo etc). Membership at Claremont Masters can be arranged. $85-$95 AUD approx. All competitors (in any event) must register individually $67 AUD: DEADLINE 23rd March 08. That is also the team deadline so I would like to set the individual deadline as the 16th of March (a week earlier).

Please provice Gerry with proof of registration.

The team must register $400 AUD per team.
If we do not supply a referee we also pay $400 AUD per team.
Assuming no referee that is $800 PER TEAM. If we have 15 players thats 800/15= $50 DOLLARS approx (to play).
Balls and caps are supplied for the games.

Please note: The team must be registered and entered by 23 March 2008.
