The ITU (International Triathlon Union) World Championships will be held on the Gold Coast from the 9th to the 14th of September this year (http://www.worldtriathlongoldcoast.com/). Last year they were held in Vancouver and Chris was selected for the Australian team in the Olympic distance race. This year we both decided to try and qualify.

The Dale Alcock State Open Water Swim for Masters Swimmers was on Saturday the 28th of March at Coogee Beach and a number of Gropers competed. There was a 2km championship event and a 1km “novice” event.

Gary Bradley (Claremont Masters President) recently handed over a cheque for $3500 to Nigel Glass and Shane Yensch from the Para-Quad Association. The money represented the net proceeds from the Swim Thru Perth for 2009.
